We were so excited when we found out Julie and her kids were making the last minute call to come up to the Vancouver Hiller family reunion and even more excited when we found out they were stopping in to hang with us in the days before and after our time in Vancouver!
They arrived just in time for my birthday and we had a fun and busy day touring around! We started the day at the Maltby Cafe with their amazing giant cinnamon buns....amazing! Drew then took off for work and we started our day's adventure.
We started by hitting Edmonds Beach and walking onto the ferry to head over to Kingston Island. Our kids love taking ferry rides and Julie had fond memories of them too and wanted her kids to have the experience as well. When we got over there was a perfect field where the kids just loved running around and throwing the football around. We explored a few shops and couldn't resist trying some fantastic crepes before jumping back on the ferry. We hit the beach after and hunted for crabs. The boys created a big 'home' for all their critters and enjoyed exploring!
We finally packed the troops up to head home and had a quick early supper at home before hitting the pool. Our kids really wanted to take their cousins there and they all had a wonderful time. You would think they would be exhausted at this point but they were still full of energy so we decided for a final stop at menchies before wrapping up our day!
The next day we hit our favorite place - Din Tai Fung for their amazing dumplings and took Julie and the kids downtown to tour around. Our kids loved exploring all together and it was fun to watch how well they got along! Too bad they weren't so far away in PA!
