First Days of School

Two!  It's hard to believe we now how two kids in elementary school!

Both boys were so excited (and a bit nervous) in the days leading up to school.  I had met Cole's new half day kindergarten teacher (she was new to Moorlands) during Community Serve but we were still waiting on the news of Sam's teacher days before the first day.  We were thrilled to find out that he would have Mrs. Wytko.  I had met her on Community Serve as well and after meeting her had just hoped that Sam could be in her class!

The first day of school was on a Wednesday and since half day kindergarteners at Moorlands don't attend school on Wednesday it meant Sam started on his own and Cole got an extra day of summer vacation.

Sam had a great day and came home really happy about his class and his teacher.  He is proving to be so resilient.  He rolled really easily with the new year and socially just takes no time at all connecting with his old classmates and picking up where he left off with his old ones.

Sam's teacher gave him this for his first day - seriously how sweet!  Sam shared some of his confetti with Cole for his first day too!

The next day Cole was off to his first day too!  He was so excited and couldn't wait to go.  He is in half day PM class which was a bit disappointing at first.  However, we discovered almost all of his friends in half day were in the PM class.  Also, usually Eliza is pretty tired in the PM so he can go have fun at school while she relaxes at home and has no one pushing her buttons when she is tired and cranky!

Cole had a great first day and came home with lots of stories to share.  He and Sam saw each other during the day too (their classrooms are a few doors away from each other) so they were both excited about that!

Chalk it up to two successful first days for two very precious boys!
