We've had a two year old in our house for a couple of weeks now! I know it sounds cliche but sometimes we just don't know where the time has gone! How has our tiny little girl grown up so fast? She enjoyed her princess party the day before her 'real' birthday. On her big day she loved hanging with her family and taking in Sam's soccer game in the afternoon. She loved opening her presents and blowing out her candles. Through out the day (and in the days that followed) we often found her signing happy birthday to herself. She loved being the center of attention.
She's such a sweet little thing. There is just a different side to her then the boys. She loves to dig in the dirt and run around like a hooligan but also loves to sit and rock her baby dolls and tuck them into their cradles. We have a very vivid mental picture of her running around in a pretty princess dress while waving a sword! She loves princesses! She knows all their names and loves to look at books about them. She is much more into dress up than the boys ever were and is creating quite a collection of princess dresses. She also talks so much. Sometimes I think we forget that she is still newly two as it just seems so easy to converse with her. She's got the cutest little voice and when she gets excited her words come out in this little high pitched squeal.
She loves hanging out with her older brothers. She misses them when they are at school and gets so excited when we pick them up. She looks up to all their buddies too and likes to be part of the crew. She's starting to have her own little friends too though. She has never been a fan of Sunday school and usually starts to fuss as we pull into the parking lot. However, now all we have to tell her is that she can play with her friend Addy and the fussing stops.
Eliza has a funny sense of humor. She loves to tell jokes and use funny voices. I think she likes to make her brothers laugh and get a rise out of them. She's got a cute little giggle and you can often hear her running around saying 'tricked you!"
Eliza is definitely a spirited little girl. She probably has the strongest opinions of any of our children. If she doesn't want to do it, you are fighting an uphill battle. She is very particular about her clothing and shoes. She often leaves the house in some interesting combinations. She also gives us a run for our money with food. We are trying to choose our battles and at her wellness they charted her as growing perfectly but her refusal to eat fruit it just a mystery to me! How can she not like fruit? Crazy girl!
Eliza has just added a new element to our little family and we are just so thankful for her. What a blessing!
