It has been fun watching Cole grow up this year while Sam has been off at school. He is becoming more independent and creating his own little friendships and relationships. He has found a best bud in a little boy who lives a few blocks away named Treyton and they have hit it off instantly. We met this family during our garage sale over the summer and realized our boys would go to school together (they have a girl Sam's age too and a couple more kiddos in the mix as well). In the fall we saw them again and then realized we had some mutual friends and connections. It has all resulted in a wonderful little group of boys who will all go to Moorlands together in a couple of years but out of that group Treyton is definitely Cole's favorite. We often see Treyton and his family at school drop off as they are walkers as well and Cole and Trey get to have a little visit in the kindergarten wing. They are just too cute together...and at times they almost looks similar too! Next year Cole and Treyton will go to the same preschool and will be in the same class as they will both feed into Moorlands - Cole can't wait! These boys are just so sweet together and their mom and I are crossing our fingers that they can be buds for a long time!
Drew had a conference in Sun River OR this past winter and we made the call to tag along for a little vacation. Things were slightly dampened by the fact that it appears Cole has developed car sickness since the summer. Ugh. The drive was so long! However, it was worth it in the end and we had a wonderful time relaxing in an amazing little chalet, enjoying the snow, sitting in the hot tub, sledding and skating! Couldn't have asked for more fun! A stop at our favorite in Mt. Hood - El burro loco! A glass of wine after our 6 hour road trip turned into 10 hours due to car sickness! Right before our Owl Walk. We were told we could walk into the wood and hear the owls. What a bust! 3 cold and tired kids in the dark woods and no owls! It's now a running joke in our home as the tour guide kept 'hooting' trying to draw the owl's attention. If we want someone's attention in the house we often hoot at each other now...
