On the agenda for day one of our time in Palm Springs was the Living Desert Zoo. We had heard it was a great place to visit and were eager to set out early before the temperature climbed to 100 degrees as predicted.
We saw lots of neat animals, cooled off in the a/c at the please touch discovery center, and admired the elaborate model train display.
However the highlight was feeding the giraffes. Little did we know when we arrived that the admission covered a giraffe feeding. We made our way over to the giraffe enclosure and waited patiently for our turn. Sam loved it and did a good job stretching as high as he could to reach his apple up to the tall fellow. Cole of course wanted to get IN the enclosure and it took all my strength to keep my flailing child from flinging himself towards the animals.
We called it a day after a couple of hours as the desert heat was just too much for the boys and meeting Daddy after his meetings for a dip in the pool became much more appealing. Here are a few pics of the morning.
