Sam's registered for kindergarten.
Yikes! How did this happen so fast? This past week was an exciting week for our oldest. We picked up his package, filled it out, returned it and got to enjoy a tour of the school and kindergarten classes.
Sam is so excited and I am so thankful that just he and I could take a tour of the school so he can start to have an idea of what is in store for him for next year. It was a fun one on one time that I don't get very often with him and he was totally intrigued with his new school. His favorite part? They have a big library. Full of books. That he can check out and take home. Without any help from mom or dad. The second best thing? He can play on the park (that we often go to as a family) without mom and dad...just with his friends. Yup, those were the highlights (it seems that the 'without mom and dad' was a bit of a theme...sniff sniff)
Sam is such a thinker and I am so glad he has the next few months to process what he saw and begin to get comfortable with this upcoming change. The school just seems so lovely and we have heard such wonderful things about it that I am excited it is his home school. We love that we are only three blocks away, that we can walk him to school in the mornings and skip the busing for our time in elementary. We are excited that one of his good friends, some neighbors, a couple of kids from his swimming class and a preschool buddy will go to kindergarten with him and he will see some familiar faces of other older neighbors in the school halls.
Fall will be here before we know it - and with it will come Sam's new adventure!
