In Less Than One Week....

We will know if we will be having a baby boy or girl! I will be 20 weeks pregnant in a few days and we have our first ultrasound on Monday February 1st. We are so excited to find out the gender of our little one this time around. Since deciding we were going to find out we have been VERY curious. It is hard to believe we were able to go for nine months without knowing if Sam would be a boy or a girl! Now that we are on the countdown this is the last chance to place your bet. So what do you think? Boy or girl?

I'm guessing boy due to Purdue tradition.
Boy. They're good in pairs.

If you break the Purdue cycle and have a girl I would be shocked...but it has to end eventually, right? How do you feel? Can't wait to hear what it is! CONGRATS!

I'm firmly camped in the girl camp. Only cause I really want you to have a girly too. They are CRAZY nuts I tell you - you have to have one!

Well I would like a little boy because Sam is so precious and it is a whole new thing for me to watch a little boy grow up. And two little boys would be so cute.

And of course my heart's desire is also for a little girl as they are truly so sweet as well. And a little boy and a little girl would be so cute.

So what if I vote for fraternal twins...one of each.

Bad grandma. Bad grandma!
Okay then, I'll behave and vote that I think it's a girl.

Sun River and Portland for Mid Winter Break

Drew had a conference in Sun River OR this past winter and we made the call to tag along for a little vacation.  Things were slightly dampened by the fact that it appears Cole has developed car sickness since the summer. Ugh.  The drive was so long! However, it was worth it in the end and we had a wonderful time relaxing in an amazing little chalet, enjoying the snow, sitting in the hot tub, sledding and skating!  Couldn't have asked for more fun!  A stop at our favorite in Mt. Hood - El burro loco! A glass of wine after our 6 hour road trip turned into 10 hours due to car sickness!  Right before our Owl Walk.  We were told we could walk into the wood and hear the owls. What a bust!  3 cold and tired kids in the dark woods and no owls!  It's now a running joke in our home as the  tour guide kept 'hooting' trying to draw the owl's attention.  If we want someone's attention in the house we often hoot at each other now...

Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for! We daily feel so grateful for all of the blessings in our life but it is nice to have a day to get together with family and reflect and relax. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend in Long Island, NY with Drew's 'east coast' family. Sam enjoyed his second road trip out to Long Island and did fabulous! He got to see a lot of family again and finally get to meet his Great Granny! Sam got some early Christmas gifts this year and had a lot more enthusiasm unwrapping them than we expected!

Reflections

North shore School District hosted an art walk this year to highlight student work.  The theme was Imagine and students were tasked with creating some sort of 'art' that reflected the theme.  Sam came home one day and told us that he had submitted something.  What came as even more as a surprise was when we were contacted to say his piece was a qualifier to represent the school in the district art walk.  Sam was pretty thrilled with it and with his ribbon and didn't mind at all that his piece didn't move on to the next round of judging.  His best bud Owen had his work submitted as well and they enjoyed hanging out at the art show.
