Drew has fond memories of attending the Calgary Stampede Parade and really wanted to take the boys while we were back in Calgary. I however thought he was crazy. Getting out of the house early and making our way downtown to fight the crowds for seats with a view only to sit for hours did not seem like it would be fun with two little boys. I was however, proven wrong - everyone had a wonderful time. Grandpa went down early to stake out a spot with some lawn chairs, we got parking a couple of blocks away and were easily settled in well before the parade started. On top of it, the boys lasted almost 3.5 hours before they started to tire of the festivities. Cole even took his morning nap in my arms while bagpipes blared beside us! Sam definitely had some favorites - the man riding a bull, the snowbird jets that flew overhead, the chuckwagons (especially the 'chickwagon'), the tanks, all the horses, street sweepers, and all the marching bands. Here are a few pictures!
