It's Been A Little Over One Week...

since Sam has been 'diaperless.'

I had no intention of potty training. With our trip to Calgary coming up in less than a month I had no desire to worry about potty training before then. A trip through the mountains did not need to be complicated by more frequent breaks.

However Sam had other plans.

Last Thursday, Sam announced he wanted to wear big boy underwear. After asking him if he was serious, I put a pair on him. Moments later he had an accident. Somewhat discouraged and not really motivated to potty train him I cleaned him up and went to put a diaper back on him. Again, Sam insisted he wanted to wear big boy underwear. I quickly realized this kid was serious and not wanting to miss out on the opportunity we took the plunge...and have been 'diaperless' since.

Sam is seriously doing amazing. The kid has basically potty trained himself. He wakes up dry from naps and at night (he wears a pull up but really hasn't needed it) and he asks when he needs to use the bathroom (both at home and when we are out and about). For some reason, he just gets it - and has made potty training seem virtually effortless. Wow...the little guy is growing up.

We can only hope Cole will be so easy on us one day!

Wow! That is awesome. Vander has no interest whatsoever, so I'm not forcing it. Good for Sam.
