A couple of weeks ago (when Grandma was in town) Sam began his usual routine of praying for our meal. However, as we all bowed our heads we were met with silence. I peeked up to see if Sam was up to something just in time to see him look up and say "amen."
I didn't quite know what to say about his silent prayer but he quickly asked me "Mom, do you know why I prayed so quietly?"
"No Sam," I replied. "Why did you pray silently"
"Well mom," he said. "I thought if I prayed silently I would be able to listen to God to hear if he was telling me something"
Wise words from a little boy.
