Busy Busy Busy!

Sam has been busy! It is unbelievable how much he is changing. It seems like every day he learns something new or embraces another challenge. It really is amazing to watch him grow and learn. Here are a few of the things that our kiddo is up to these days (no wonder he doesn't nap well...there is too much to do!)

1. Tooth #2 - The other bottom tooth popped up this afternoon. Hopefully it can finish cutting through his gums quickly so he can have some respite before the next round.

2. Rolling - Now that Sam has the back to stomach roll down pat, he is working on the opposite - rolling from his stomach to his back...it probably won't be long before he tackles this one! Sam loves to roll - we often now find him rolling back and forth in his crib in his sleep!

3. Squealing - In the last few days Sam discovered he can squeal and he can do it LOUDLY!

4. Water - Sam has been really intrigued with us when we take a drink so he had his first sips of water today...he loved it! I think he is hooked!

5. Hugs - Sam enjoys giving hugs....to Jasper! Sam is suddenly very intrigued with his furry sibling and frequently reaches out to give her a big hug. We used to have to protect Sam from Jasper but now we have to look out for poor Jasper. Sam gets a hold of her hair and will not let go without a fight!

Needless to say...things are busy around here! You just never know what Sam will do next!

A very special hello from Amanda, Keith and Jonas! We love your blog! I can't believe Samuel already has 2 teeth! Jonas still is at 0! It's great to see which milestones they're similar and different in. Keep in touch :)

Sun River and Portland for Mid Winter Break

Drew had a conference in Sun River OR this past winter and we made the call to tag along for a little vacation.  Things were slightly dampened by the fact that it appears Cole has developed car sickness since the summer. Ugh.  The drive was so long! However, it was worth it in the end and we had a wonderful time relaxing in an amazing little chalet, enjoying the snow, sitting in the hot tub, sledding and skating!  Couldn't have asked for more fun!  A stop at our favorite in Mt. Hood - El burro loco! A glass of wine after our 6 hour road trip turned into 10 hours due to car sickness!  Right before our Owl Walk.  We were told we could walk into the wood and hear the owls. What a bust!  3 cold and tired kids in the dark woods and no owls!  It's now a running joke in our home as the  tour guide kept 'hooting' trying to draw the owl's attention.  If we want someone's attention in the house we often hoot at each other now...
